Certificate in Contract Law 1

This course involves a detailed consideration of the role and substantive content of contract law in Ireland. The main objective of this course is to guide the learner through a course of study, which will enable them to gain knowledge of the principal theories of contract law. It aims to provide a learning environment, which will enable the student develop the analytical skills required to apply their legal knowledge to various scenarios. Students will gain an appreciation of the legal elements required to form a binding contract and be able to assess and evaluate the impact of these required elements upon various legal scenarios. On completion of the course, learners will be able to Distinguish between various types of contract terms, understand their relative importance and effect, and appreciate the impact of the distinction between such terms. They will be able to assess the impact of mistake and misrepresentation on a contract and be able to discuss the approach of the courts to these invalidating factors. Finally, learners will gain an deeper insight into how public policy considerations have impacted upon both illegal and void contracts and be able to analyse the contractual capacity of both individuals and corporations to enter into enforceable contracts.

Certificate in Contract Law 2

The Certificate in Administrative Law 2 aims to provide students with an appreciation of the executive arm of the government’s relationship with the judicial and legislative arms, the historical development of that relationship and the influence of human rights and EU law on Irish Administrative law.
 
This programme is a module from our Law degree programme offered as a standalone certificate for students who are interested in gaining a recognised qualification in this discipline.
