Overview

This interdisciplinary module explores current contrasting and emerging issues in childhood and youth theory, policy and practice. The roles, responsibilities and experiences that children and young people may explore outside of the family are examined. The lives of children and young people who experience adversity and resilience are studied. The future of childhood as a consequence of globalisation is critiqued. Finally, the active agency of children and young people as participants in their own lives and futures is discussed.
